Sonya Williams brings a wealth of organizational and leadership skills to the Advantus Strategies association management team. In her role as membership services director for one of Advantus' larger association management clients, Williams is the first point of contact for more than 18,000 members and is responsible for publication management, membership relations and event coordination.
After earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, she began her career at the Virginia Health Information Network where she served as Executive Assistant to the Director. There she applied her organizational expertise to meeting and conference planning, membership management and employee relations. Prior to joining Advantus, Williams worked in human resources at Alstom Power and also had worked extensively in both the public and non-profit sectors. She is married and has three children.
