McKinley Jordan is a member of the Advantus Strategies association management team.  He is the face of our client associations, meeting with their rank-and-file members across the state on a daily basis. Prior to joining Advantus in 2006, he was a career state employee having served as a Case Manager, Grievance Coordinator, Correctional Sergeant, Work Study Release Coordinator, Work Release Counselor, and Classification Specialist in the Virginia Department of Corrections before his retirement. Jordan is a people person, and once you get to know him, he leaves a lasting impression. He sees his associations work with Advantus Strategies as a means of helping State employees because his duties carry him into every state agency and facility in the eastern half of the Commonwealth. He has an Associate's Degree in Corrections, and a BS in Sociology from St. Leo College in Florida. His community involvement includes serving as Past Post Commander of America Legion Post #151 of Emporia, Virginia, Past Exalted Ruler of Victory, ELK Lodge #1179, and he now serves as the Chair of the Crater Service Disability Board, Crater District. Jordan is a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church where he also serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School and as a member of the Ushers' Ministry.
